First SSWiSS Social of 2024! Please note: We are moving to FOURTH Thursdays each month. These are in-person, potluck food, and BYOB get-togethers at the CYC Clubhouse at Shilshole Marina.
For this one, let's get together and focus on meeting new friends and catching up with old friends. CYC Fleet Captain Cruise, Jenny Heins, will give a short presentation on sailing resources for women in the area and a brief discussion on our group's ideas for the year - open for discussion. Also, in celebration of Women's History Month, let's each research and bring a brief story about a woman sailor you are inspired by. Finally, think about your sailing goals for the year and what you would like help with, as well as what you can offer to others.
Looking forward to seeing many of you there. Bring a dish for 4-6 people and any drinks you'd like to share. (No bartender, this is self-hosted.) Please RSVP on SSWiSS Facebook Page for numbers. Thanks!
About SSWiSS
The Salish Sea Women in Sailing Sistership (SSWiSS) is a vibrant community of women that come together to support each other in their sailing endeavors. With the growing number of women sailors and vast opportunities for sailing in the Pacific Northwest, this social group was originally formed by women sailors racing out of Shilshole Marina but has expanded to reach out across the entire Puget Sound and Salish Sea (Olympia to BC Canada). We aspire to create a camaraderie among veteran and new sailors and build lasting friendships on the water. We are open to anyone, women & men, who relish in the pure love of sailing, are willing to share their stories, and are committed to fostering a supportive, relaxed, and non-judgmental environment for all.
