Friday, February 16 – Dash to Desolation Sound:    Greg and Mara Barckert

Every summer in early August, on the morning of the biggest ebb-tide, the Barckert family wakes up before the sun and casts off for a month aboard their Riptide 55’ Rocket Science. Two and half days and 180NM later they arrive in Desolation Sound and summer can officially begin. However, we will learn that you don’t need a big fast boat to get there quickly. Sometimes everything goes smoothly and other times not so much, yet it is always an amazing time spent messing about in boats.
